Once, in the heart of a dense, tropical jungle, there lived a young monkey named Milo. Unlike the other monkeys in his troop, Milo was quiet, pensive, and often seen sitting alone on a branch, gazing at the horizon. The other monkeys would chatter and swing from tree to tree, reveling in their games, but Milo’s heart felt heavy.

Milo had always been curious and adventurous. One day, while exploring the edge of the jungle, he discovered an old, abandoned human village. Among the ruins, he found a broken mirror. When Milo looked into it, he saw himself for the first time. His reflection puzzled him. “Who am I?” he wondered.

From that day on, Milo couldn’t shake the feeling of loneliness. The other monkeys didn’t understand his sudden change in demeanor. They teased him for his quietness, calling him “the sad monkey.” But Milo wasn’t just sad—he was searching for something. He felt as if a piece of himself was missing, something that swinging and playing couldn’t fill.

One rainy afternoon, Milo sat under a large banyan tree, watching the drops ripple in a nearby pond. A wise old tortoise approached him. “Why so sad, young one?” the tortoise asked.

Milo hesitated before replying, “I feel… different, like I don’t belong here.”

The tortoise smiled kindly. “Sometimes, feeling lost is just the beginning of finding yourself. Keep looking, Milo. The answers will come in time.”

Though Milo’s sadness didn’t vanish overnight, the tortoise’s words gave him hope. He realized that it was okay to feel different and that his journey was uniquely his own. Milo may have been a sad monkey, but within him was the strength to keep searching for his place in the world.
