Cutis Is Fed by Strangers
Cutis, a tiny, scruffy puppy with soft brown fur and soulful eyes, wandered the streets in search of food. His ribs pressed against his fragile frame, a heartbreaking sign of his hunger and neglect. Once a cherished companion, or perhaps born a stray, Cutis now faced the world alone.
Life on the streets was harsh for the little pup. Every day was a battle for survival, navigating through busy roads and avoiding larger, more aggressive animals. His small nose sniffed tirelessly, hoping to catch the scent of something edible. Yet, scraps were scarce, and his energy waned.
One evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, Cutis’s fortune began to change. A kind woman walking home noticed the trembling puppy near a street corner. She paused, her heart aching at the sight of him. From her bag, she retrieved a sandwich, carefully tearing off pieces and gently placing them near him. Cautiously, Cutis approached, his tail wagging faintly as he devoured the food.
Word of the scrappy pup spread among the locals. A shopkeeper started leaving out water and leftover bread each morning, while a young boy brought bits of chicken he’d saved from his lunch. Cutis began to recognize these strangers, his tail wagging more vigorously with each encounter.
Though he had no permanent home, Cutis’s life was no longer as bleak. These small acts of kindness gave him strength and, more importantly, hope. The strangers who fed him did more than fill his stomach—they showed him compassion in a world that had often seemed unkind.
Cutis’s story reminds us of the profound impact simple gestures can have. To the strangers, it was just a scrap of food. To Cutis, it was life, love, and the promise of a brighter tomorrow.
